The Big Kitchen Reveal

Goodbye 1987!

When we were hunting for a house, we had our little list of “non-negotiables” to keep our realtor on her toes. But as 6 months approached and we were feeling more and more like we just needed to pick something, some of those non-negotiables became, well, negotiable.

One of those compromises was the kitchen.

I love my home. We’ve put untold hours into making it feel like us and have enjoyed doing it. But one thing that I never understood was how I agreed to buy a house with such an awful kitchen. What was I thinking?! Galley style – hate it. Size – way to small. Tile – disgusting. Cabinets – short and impractical. Counterspace – what counterspace? Appliances – circa 1987. I could go on and on.

When time came to do the remodel, I wasn’t sure we could fanangle the situation enough to make me love it again. Oh, was I wrong! I LOVE my new kitchen. Many people have asked for photos and I have not put many out there. At this point, I just feel my poor photography skills do not do it justice. But today I thought I’d share it with you anyway.
